Lowell Snare Courageous Award

"This award is named in honor of Lowell Snare, a longtime sports writer in both our counties since the early 1960’s. Lowell has been sidelined on several occasions with a variety of serious health related illnesses. Before his retirement, Lowell fought numerous battles involving his health with the utmost professionalism and always with a positive attitude, all while continuing to report on our student athletes and coaches. Never was there a negative comment about students, coaches or the schools in general. Lowell has received several awards both locally and statewide as well, for his journalistic efforts. This award is given to a student athlete whom has been afflicted with a severe injury or illness and battled back to perform and represent their school and community."
